I decided to come and visit my Auntie Kit this Monday for the second time since last week. I felt shy and out of place with the DTS Students of YWAM living with her. With my last visit, they were only 7 (including aunti) and last Monday there were 6 more additions. Before we slept we(me and aunti) had a little sharing, that revolved around the topics about “Hearing God’s voice” ; “Doing God given responsibilities” and “Mission ”. While having serious talk, she told me that she and the team will go on a special mission of praying for Malate at 6:00am the next day (that’s early Tuesday morning). I told her I’d like to join them.
The next day, she woke me up at 5:30am. I was still terribly sleepy, but then I did not allow myself to spare some more minutes to go back to sleep (my usual scenario every morning) because I knew that everyone’s already awake, and I didn’t want to cause delay. Missionary time is so very gold and requires full commitment. I have to comply.
Then the start of the “Mission to Malate” came…we were divided into 4 groups. I’m with aunti kit and two Koreans named Joy and Lee.
We did many walkings especially when we trudged the streets of Malate. But surprisingly, it was not tiring at all. I can’t explain how I managed that. Thank God. Each group went on their own lead. For us, we passed through many streets while observing the place and praying for it too, until we reached the meeting place: the park in front of the Malate Church. As we all arrived at the park, we were asked by auntie to read some scriptures by ourselves. Later she gathered us, discussed what to pray for Malate, and instructed to pray with our respected partners. Mine is Joy. She and I shared the Scripture we’ve read awhile ago and then started praying as we roam the whole park and church. We even prayed for each other at the end. I saw others in the team, preaching the Gospel to those people sitting on the benches. It was a very blessed day for me, an experience of what awaits in the field of mission. I won’t forget that day where God removed my bashfulness and replaced it with the courage to pray in the streets. I believe God has planted seeds of love and salvation in that place. I believe that one day, in God’s time people will just turn away from prostitution, corruption and evil ways and will turn their faces to the Lord instead. Thank God for the DTS Students’ lives as well as Auntie’s for being a tool for the expansion of God’s kingdom! I’m just so blessed with their commitment to God’s commission!

ang gandang experience no? I was also able to do a ‘prayer walk’ when I was in Japan.. pinagpray namin yung streets and trains and yung school ko. And I still do it *randomly* sometimes pag naglalakad ako kung saan-saan :] Walang pinipiling lugar ang “intercessory prayer” :p We should set out and claim our houses, neighborhoods, schools etc. in Christ’s Name
Deuteronomy 11: 24 “Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the western sea.”
Anyway.. I have this feeling that you’ll walk in your aunt’s footsteps in the future. Pero kahit hindi, I know God will use you in extraordinary ways to reach out to people. I’ll pray for you!

Yeah, di matatawaran! There really is power with our prayers. it just takes faith and courage to break walls. Intercessory prayer must not only be a part but a lifestyle for us Christians!
Nako Tins, how I wish! But I still have to pray harder and be sensitive sa kung ano ung calling ko. mahirap na if my will isn’t His will for me. I really need prayers right now, thanks! =)
